the threads inside the body snaped. it's a ruff terrain beside the road so the shocks get a good workout. i think it extened hard and broke. limiting straps could solve that.

If I get one I plain on jumping nothing like I would with my 1/8 scale. I jump my 5b SS 5 to 6 feet in the air and only time I broke a stock shock is when I was in a race and someone came off the big jump and t boned me in the back which broke my right shock in two. I limped around the track for another 20 minutes till the heat was over as a good day racing to me is starting and finishing anything else is a bounce. Did not win but I finished. LOL This was at Diggers Dungeon in 2009.

One of the reasons I want a 4 wheel drive is so when in the air I can control it better. Keep us posted on your rebuild this winter PLEASE.

If there was any way I could get up the money I would get a MCD RR V4. I have some of my RC stuff on eBay right now trying to get up the money for a XB.

ok i take back what i've said. i'm starting to get unhappy with the xb. first was the rim (ok my fault i didn't check the drive square set screws to see if they were tight and they came loose and cause some extra heat that melted the inside and the rim came off) my bad. then it was the servo witch they replaced at no cost with a cheaper servo then what it came with, then the shock shaft broke (i wasn't beating on it), then i had a second rim go bad but this time it got rounded inside ( not my fault). i stated that the wheel bearings on mine were still fine................guess what went, thats right my wheel bearings. well the new tires came and all is good and ready to go so i take it out for a spin and well wouldn't you know it the back bearing on the diff way shaft blew apart witch in turn broke the diff mount and tore up the 2 new gears i just received. i believe that i made a mistake buying a redcat product. i have a hpi baja and never have a problem with it, my duratrax firehammer mt holds up really good and has taken alot of abuse and has never given me this much problems. in the short time that i've had this car it has given me more problems this past week then my baja and fhammer has in the past 2 years.

Wheel bearings, servos are in the thread. So is tire foams. Not sure about diff bearings or wheels. Yes please do post on it.

Been waiting all day to see your post on the Red Cat forums. LOL Guess you where tied up. There was another guy posted today on the Red Cat forums that blow a diff. Wondering if I might should wait to get a XB till they fix some of the problems.

i was racing all day yesturday and got home late. just got up out of bed right now and trying to occupy my 4 month old while i type this but he ain't making it easy.lol

I do understand being I was a single parent of 3 girls. When I became a single parent 2 of them where in diapers and none in school. They are pretty much grown now. My youngest is 23.

How did you do at the track? I know you race 1/8 scale but what do you run?

at the one track i race my 1/8 ofna nexx8, my stock sct blits, and if we have enough show up i'll run my cen truggy, if not i run my heavly moded 2wd slash in the mod class. at the other track i just run 1/8 and stock sct. if we had a 1/5 scale track around here i'd run at it but the nearist track is 3 hours away.

The closes large scale track to me is about 6 hours away now. I miss racing so much thought about going back to 1/8 scale. Even at that I have a 2 to 3 hour drive to the nearest track.

Saw your post on Red Cat forums. I think I am going to hold off on getting a XB to see if they improve it. Might just try to figure out how to get the money up to get a MCD RR V4 which is what I really want. I figured with the XB and the up grades it will need that does not cure all I will have around $900 in it. I can get a MCD competition up and running for about $1500.

you might want to look up noyb on 5th scale before you buy a V4, alos contact pwaicon cos it was a guy he knows who sold noyb his...lets just say if you're on a tight budget a V4 probably aint for you if you plan racing often. they are tough but seem high maintenance judging from their experience

Sounds like a sales pitch to me.

I have done some more research on the diff failure problem. One user had six diff failures. Looking at his case looks like the bearing might have gone bad in turn melted the diff case. I am wondering if a better bearing other then stock would fix this problem? I found a place where you can get a sealed bearing for $395 each.
