what should they be proud of ? I hear you ask............

ME

as most of you know i have been competeing in the british nationals and doing very well i might add (talk about blowing your own trumpet!!).

well last weekend i made the 700mile round trip to race at the nook raceway,

only to find i was racing against 2 mcd ultimates 1 fg baja 4wd and an mcd evo3. :(

OMG those mcd"s were awsome looking machines and me ole brown eye started blowing kisses.

in the morning i fitted my brand new one piece engine mount and my brand new steel gears. NOW i was ready to kick some ass but 2 mins into the first heat my car emitted a sound like a nail gun locked on full auto, and it stopped in the middle of the track with all revs and no go.

i got her back to the pits and looked for damage but everything seemed ok

that is until i removed the gear cover to find this

well that was it it looked like i was out of the race, but one of the mcd lads offered me some plastic gears to get me back racing. so after a quick re-build i was back for the second heat and my god did i come back, after the heats i was down to fourth on the final grid but after a hard fought final i manged to get second place.

results are here

well so what its only second not first!!!!

BUT the 99 points that i gained have now brought my total up

infact just to really blow my trumpet

IAM NOW

THE B.R.C.A BRITISH NATIONAL 1/5 OUTLAW OFFROAD CHAMPION 2009

iam officially no1 in britain in the 4wd class.

and i have to attend the brca AGM to recive the trophy:D

hopefully in a redcat shirt eh rob?

SO WELL DONE REDCAT

now all ive got to do is retain it next year!!!

Well done mooky..

Great product driven to perfection by a Brit, Get in there.

Little set back for the gears mind you..

Where's your trak give me lessons!!!!

Great job Matey..

awesome job, i was hoping the gear issue was resolved myself, but i did notice that i cannot run the hopup gear plate since the clutch anspur spacing are too far apart and i shreaded a new set of gears as well so back to the old plate and will work on machining my own

I still can't believe the TT/MT is'nt very popular?!?!?!?! The Rampage is sooooooo UNDERRATED!!!!!! I am totally stoked that for what I invested in 1 Hpi Baja, I got 2 Rampages w/ ups and still have money to spend!!!!!!! Congrats Mooky!!!! Awesome driving!!!!!! I'm sure you can get those MG replace from whoever you got them from.

WHOOHOO. Way to represent the Rampages man!

the vertigo plate is an alternative, a bit pricey but you know it will be perfect...i think Scott at Van hobbies still has one
I asked Scott and he said only 4 were made and they're gone :( To bad cause I think I'm at the point to buy one.

The Vertigo plate is very good quality but .............it does not include the small plate behind it that supports the pinion so.....this is what may happen....☻

Looks to me like your grub screws came loose on the brake square and caused that! Those Vertigo gear plates were prototypes, he decided not to produce them because Redcat came out with their own at a very low cost, too bad because the quality and tolerances were exceptional.

Oh and by the way Congratulations Mooky, way to represent!

I can email Clayton ( lives 2hrs from me) and see if he can run a couple off...i shouldn't mind one or two myself...if there's enough of us out there i'm sure he could be convinced to do a small batch
I'd be curious of the cost. Vertigo has nice stuff though.

And CONGRATS Mooky!

Maybe if both Scott and I emailed him and there was enough interest for a few we might be able convince him, the redcat plate is a bit sloppy
I did contact him, there's just not enough interest to warrant a run of them, he can't just make a few at a time...it's to expensive.
