My 1st "real" rc was the Tamiya Hotshot II when i was about 12-13, i hopped it up though so the front had independant suspension for each wheel & also fitted a Tamiya TECHNIGOLD motor, which back then that motor cost me around £50! was 1 of the best motors around & gutta dmit my hotshot went like sh!t off a shovel lol :)

Sadly the car is long gone but still have a couple of old cars...
All I have left of my old ones is a mantua turbo beetle and a thundertiger eb4 s2

I also have 2 FG's

I raced from the age of 12.. (1989) up untill about 1999 then became a basher of some old crapy hpi thing...

then about 5 yr ago bought my thunder tiger eb4 to bash about with and loved it...still do ...

And last year I got myself an FG Baja....most fun you can have in rc i think....

Did you find that this hobby led you to meet new people and groups of people that share this interest, even outside the forum? I found that in this short time i have met the nicest people thanks to the RC community.
You should definetely get a Redcat and join our friendly races :p :cup-1:

I have met loads of good people in and out of clubs and via forums..
I feel it has also taught me so much that I would be a different person if I had never started racing..

My FG is raceable but they tracks are just too far away from me at the moment to start racing again.

nearly £45 in fuel traveling to and from the nearest track plus all required fee's for the race day..

its just too much for me right now...at least bashing its only the fuel in the FG and any breakages.

My first was a Tamiya Grasshopper back in about 1984. That thing used to fly with the 12v car vac motor i fitted in it, but the 7.2v hump pack only lasted a few minutes!!
Happy days!!!!

The first car i got was a Tamiya grasshopper
then the wild willy
then the hornet
then the frog
then a mugen bulldog (great car):cup-1:
then a tamiya racing master with a porsche 956 shell

my first RC? which one? i had a timaya grass hopper, hornet and hot shot II, at the same time i had a twin motor lambo and F1 car from toys r us both ran 9.6v packs, then i had these 2 monster trucks from radio shack, cant remember the names, back in 1986,bad part they all got stolen,
always tried to find the toys "r" us cars again but never could

Kyosho MP6 Inferno back in the day. I liked that one a lot. Converted it into a Rallygame with Subaru body first and then Ford Escort WRC.

i guess that answers also my "what is your favorite rc on your collection" question too :p

Nice collection :)

Sadly they are all long gone But i would like another bulldog the 4WD and 4 wheel steer was great it could turn in just over its length on full steer
Everything now is Nitro
and the one 1/5 petrol that is good fun

my first real one was a few years ago now but still have it and always will, my tmaxx 2.5 upgraded to 3.3 and still runs strong. its the only nitro I have kept, all I run now is gassers.
