Edit: torn fuel line was allowing debris past the clunk, plus gunk had built up in the high speed screen and bowl. Fixed now and running like it should

Hello everyone, I've recently rebuilt my 5ive-t with a G340 and can't seem to get the thing to run beyond idle for more than a moment.

Had it running like a top for about 5 minutes before it lost all power and would die if the throttle was increased beyond idle. Adjusting the high speed needle gives no response. Tried cleaning the high speed side and it fixed the issue for about 30 seconds.

My fuel lines look good, no tears leaks or kinks, the clunk/filter looks clean and I'm running fresh gas in a clean tank. I can blow carb cleaner back through the high speed "port" out the needle valve threads

Anyone dealt with mystery carb clogging like this before?

Little screen inside looked clear. I'm going toss some new fuel line on tomorrow after cleaning the carb out good just to be safe. I did find some gunk in the "bowl" area of the carb on teardown a bit ago, I think that might have been the source

Clogged tank vent starving it for fuel?

Had a little no start issue myself today ,put a fresh plug in fired right up. I rarely find carbs to be the real issue..... A little trick is to rev motor with truck off ground and close choke till engine bogs down then open till revs back up . Repeat couple times while keeping revs up . I call it the 2 dollar carb cleaning. It will suck whatever is in carb out. If truck runs better you've found issue. Used to fix a lot of older carburetor vehicles back in the day. While not always the best or perfect fix it can help with diagnosis. My 5t is pushing 5 years and other than maybe 4th plug and a couple exhaust gaskets still runs like a bear !!!!
