What a garbage used this like 3 tanks and that hex is completly rounded off. Actually i think it broke at the first tank, was driving at sandy road, stopped gave some revs and nothing happened thinked that the new clutch jamming or something then the car took off like normal after rev it for a sec or 2 and worked normally for whole tank.View attachment 64153

So you replaced your original clutch with a brand new Rovan clutch bell and it only lasted 2 tanks ? What exactly was the failure on your original clutch ? Also keep in mind Rovan clutch parts will not interchange with HPI parts. I have a Rovan clutch that has about 15 hard bashing hours on it in lots of sand and my clutch has performed excellent. Is your engine bottom end in good condition ?

Failure is that the friction material just turns to dust before you know. When the car was New and un ported same thing, coupel of tanks and no material left. don't know about the New Bell nut was tight. Amazing thing is that pinion didnt slip on it even it is completly rounded.

i bought this Rovan clutch bell and pinion / spur set recently, but did not start using it.
rather i've sent it to a workshop for some nitriding... together with the stock HPI 17T pinion and 19T from DDM (black magic type)
will see if they'll last... and report back. do not expect it anytime soon... i'm about to start the yearly maintenance, so a/m Rovan thing is for the next season

Well must open that clutch again:rolleyes:. I was driving it and clutch spring broke maeby, had to start it like A chainsaw In the air because tires spin as i pull the string:LOL:. Didnt have so much grip that it would start by pushing.
Yeah it was just broken springIMG_20201008_124242.webp
