What a garbage used this like 3 tanks and that hex is completly rounded off. Actually i think it broke at the first tank, was driving at sandy road, stopped gave some revs and nothing happened thinked that the new clutch jamming or something then the car took off like normal after rev it for a sec or 2 and worked normally for whole tank.IMG_20200929_182715.webp

Oh and yesterday was driving at sandy fiel something like 2 tanks but have to leave because other clutch spring snapped. any one else tried this type of clutch? Installed that clutch same time as that bell.IMG_20200929_182722.webp

ive heard it isnt good at all, but ive never personally used one. just get an FS or genuine Zenoah clutch off ddm and forget about it (y)

To be honest i wouldn't of entertained using that clutch seeing that design. The clutch i have uses a pivot point. That clutch looks like it will just do what it wants and engage all whacky

Nah they don't, if they are weighted right, centrifugal force will fling them out evenly. The pivot system is just another way of doing it, but can result in less contact area if designed poorly. With a sliding style clutch the friction material should engage uniformly. Crap materials in either design don't work out too well.

that clutch worked great until other spring snapped, no wonder it came with spare springs :D
Standard rovan clutches last max 2 tanks until the friction material is gone but still they seem to work fine, i run them backwards.
Next problem is to get this bugger off.

Wore the friction material right off the shoes. Interesting. Just curious, hows the spur gear look? To cause the cluch bell hex to get worn like that the pinion gear back was locked up and not aloud to spin like normal . Was the pinion gear tightened down ? There had to be a little slop between the pinion gear and the clutchbell hex to allow it to move slightly before it tore the hex apart . That totally sucks.

Heres the 19t metal pinion and spurr. Can see that it made contact only 1 third.

Heres stock gearing and plastic spurr ridden over 10 liters

This is maby 3 tanks ridden stock clutch, spring is little streched because lack of friction material. Think Im gonna scrape that lefting material Off and run it as metallic.

I'd pass on that idea mate, clutches are cheap. Do you di a lot of on, off throttle style of driving, or a lot of slow down to idle speed and acceleration? Just seems odd that a clutch isnt lasting a long time. I had gallons through my dbxl before it needed a new clutch, and honestly I'd didnt need one, still had plenty of life left, I just figured I had it spent may ad well toss a new clutch in.

That was my third clutch of that style, i usually just floor it so that wheels are spinning from start.
Gonna still try to run that clutch as my engine anyway needs rebuilding soon, got some lateral play on main bearins. Flywheel magnets are just kissing coil pack so i may shim it little more and run till it blows up:sneaky: and sorry for my bad english im from finland:)
