The electronics on the Rovan and KM are junk. The rest of the parts are OK. Hpi servos aren't the best either.

i have to totally disagree. i own both a hpi baja ss and a king motors 002 from dan. i will give the the fact that the electronics suffer a bit, but that has been fixed for the most part this year. the car itself is great. durable nylon parts, 30.5 cc motor. tires are crappy, but for what you get for your money speed an extra 300 and have a car for 8 to 900 bucks brand new that will spank an out of the box hpi. and i think a little healthy compition for hpi in the large scale department is much needed to get us consumers what we really want. more dependable faster cars at better prices.
 
I just bought my 002 from Dan a month ago and the servos are rough sounding, almost like there's sand in them. Don't get me wrong, I like the KM. But as you said, the electronics suffer.
