Been a tricky season for ordering online. With all of the extra online ordering and rona, Santa (the mailman) has been delayed and a bunch of orders won't arrive on time. Dammit!... Who else is on Santa's wait list and won't be getting their goods in time?
 
Luckily all the gifts made it in time. Few other orders that are not gifts are taking forever. I have some packages sitting at USPS hubs...been sitting there for 5-6 days. This is with paid "Priority Shipping". My buddy works for USPS and said the Phoenix and Tucson hubs have multiple FULL tractor trailers just sitting with not enough people to unload, send to the machines or manually sort. I watched one package via tracking travel literally back and fourth twice across the US. This is an unprecedented year with so much online shipping and then so much of the USPS workforce being out due to the virus or quarantine. Our postal system has been on a downward decline for a long time. Some folks directly blame Amazon as supposedly they pay dirt cheap shipping rates yet they clog the system. Cant speak to that from personal knowledge...but its word around the campfire.
 
Supposedly my last present from me for my son, is still on track to show up today. First it was out of stock, then got lost, then found. Now tracking shows on truck for delivery. I'm not holding my breath, as shipping sucks balls no matter who's shipping it right now. USPS more so then others it seems for me anyway.
 
So the problem with USPS is that it is written into law that they are not allowed to be profitable/ take profit. Crazy I know. So the reason they're always in trouble is because they never have extra money behind them to help in hard times. Trump was supposed to fix that. They brokered this deal with Amazon all while not making a profit and as you say, clogging the system.

Sean I'm sure Santa will drop your orders off today. Very rarely will it say "out for delivery" and not be on a truck, actually never. Now keep an eye on that because it can still be delivered to wrong address and getting a call in to the PO right away when this happens will be your only saving grace.

Oh they feked me good plenty of times. My wife is home today so hopefully she sees them coming and goes out and grabs it.
