I just installed HiTec D845 for steering and when it’s in neutral position it’s making a slight noise...never had this issue before and don’t have a clue why...I thought maybe one of the two servo links might be binding but I loosened the turnbuckles on both and still there...this normal or what did I do wrong?

No hitec had been having issues recently, I have one that glitches, moves back and forth ever so slightly at center position. Call hitec and see what they want you to do with it.
I'd personally throw it in the trash and get a hilantronics. But that's just me.

Omg I see so many ppl use that servo and no problems so I buy one and it’s screwed up...I realize that ya gotta spend some money for good parts and figured it was a decent servo for $104...nope wrong again...gotta spend $200 for one servo...messed up thing is nothing wrong with the Rovan one just wanted it to react quicker...has no problem as far as power...the hi tec works great just makes a tiny little whine when sitting there...anyway thanks Sean at least I didn’t buy another for my throttle/brake lol

get savox, they are like 110
I was going to because that’s what I run in my Kraton and they’re notorious servo killers...like I said just thought they were good servos and didn’t see anyone with issues...just gonna run it til it burns up I guess?

Just run it. Servo chatter has been around as long as servos.
Now that’s what I like to hear!? it’s not moving or jittering and it’s a slight sound just didn’t want to run it if there was some trick or step to fixing it...works 100 times better than the Rovan and if it lasts a year I’d be happy..just a basher

I find Hi-tech to be very very hit or miss judging both from posts/reviews/complaints and personal experience. They are super sensitive to interference or something. Some do it and some don't. Must be a soder issue or something on the boards. My new 845 and old 0241mg savox make noise but like Doug said, twitch the steering and it goes away. I had a hitech 7980 mega torque throttle servo yrs back. Installed it into a alloy servo tray and the stupid thing would pin WOT. Taped the gear box on servo and problem went away. Very strange and unpredictable.

But your issue of noise is normal for most servos high torque servos or at least the ones I've had.

Ya just talked to Steve at DDM and he said digital servos are known to make a lil noise...won’t hear it over the engine ???
