My rant: Wow Traxxas is behind their game for once! I bought news of the Ofna/Jammin announcement in August and Traxxas announced theirs in October. The Ofnas are supposed to hit the shelves first. I was sold on the beefy Ofna 4wd SC before Traxxas released news of their plasticky 4wd SC. Hopefully the Slash 4wd chassis wont break at the front like the similarly designed emaxx and erevo chassis and hopefully the shock caps wont blow off like on slash 2wd. The $400 slash 4wd comes with a 2.4ghz, h20 proof 3500 kv brushless system, traxxas servo and a 7cell 3000 battery, plastic towers, plastic chassis, plastic axles, only 2 diffs, unthreaded plastic shocks, no sway bars, plastic spur, and a prepainted body. The $250 hyper sc roller comes with metal towers, metal chassis, cvds front, dogbones rear, 3 fluid diffs, metal threaded shocks, sway bars, metal spur, and clear body for personalization. Those would all have to be purchased as upgrades for over $250 for the slash 4wd. Oh and all the same 2.4ghz, h20 proof 3500kv brushless system, traxxas servo and 7cell 3000 could be purchased new on ebay for $300 or less shipped. Lets see $650+ for a hopped up pieced together basher slash 4wd or $550 for a superior racer hyper SC that is ready to go. Sorry traxxas your 1/10 4wd SC is at least $100 too much! With the Hyper being $100 cheaper could skip buying the $25 traxxas servo for it and get a digtial hitec and a 5000mah lipo and still have $ left over! Its the same story w/the emaxx and erevo. By the time you build them right its cheaper to have gotten a real electric truggy or buggy. TRAXXAS LOWER YOUR PRICES! YOUR VEHICLES ARENT RACERS JUST BASHERS! In case you couldnt tell I plan on getting the ofna.
