tracks still underwater but i got a small video in the parking lot. running 8s with 18T pinion 2028 motor. truck is all stock except for 15,000 center diff oil
http://youtu.be/fqWYnP0o9M0
blasting up and down the street until i get bored 8minutes??
Jumps and lands very well.
Is there much difference once loaded with motor and batteries, in the gross weight?
Still seems to bottom very easily on the jumps.
Still got to say it; not the same being so big and so (relatively) silent!
Makes a good case for itself just the same.
Al.
its a few pounds lighter than my gas truck. suspension is all stock still. diffs are 15,000ft center and rear.
all you brushless experts, i have a gearing question?
seems geared 18T pinion on the street motor ran cool on a 45 degree day dragracing back and forth and using a lot of brake
geared 17T on a dusty track motor ran too hot after 12 minutes.using barelly any brake. the 17T is like 46MPG without any tire ballooning and i doubt i get that fast on a 200 foot straight. i was thinking trying a 16t but some guys think the motor needs a load and going back up to 18 would be better.

iits wheel spin causing the heat. i ran a test at same track and feathered the throttle to aviod wheel spin. i ran 17 minutes instead of 12 and motor was 150 instead of 200. the track hasnt been used all winter and has silt on it with no traction. all that wheel spin ( although fun) was heating up everything. center diff was 180 and this test was 120.
im going to try a 16T but ill wait a few weeks for the track to get rebuilt for the summer.
