Sorry too far for me.
Fuel Ratio has no real bearing on altitude but 30:1 is good.
Even if a new plug check the gap. 50% are off from my experience. Being likely a
Losi DBXL V1 i would gap the plug to 0.029 in.
Because fuel is IMO the most important, a carb clean at my garage is a full tear down, sonic clean and replace any and all gaskets. Too much headache from a simple air leak. A simple spray or even soak in carb cleaner with a low psi air blast is a 50% job done but works for some.
NO question asked is stupid. Just the opposite. Since it Sat for a while i would do the following:
1. Fuel - Start with the fuel/carb as that will be the time consuming part. Clean carb, Clean Fuel tank, replace fuel lines, replace Clunk Fuel Filter and carb gasket. When you prime the carb you will know if you have fuel to it or not. New gas and new oil. The ports on these carbs are very small so a good clean is worth it.
2. Carb Settings - If you have the manual follow the recommended settings on the Low-High Needles. I a guessing 1 turn out on the low and 1.25 on the High for a base setting.
3. Spark - Pull the Pull starter and check the coil/flywheel. It may be rusted, dirty or ??. If you have to clean it then remember to re-gap the coil. Business card works for a gauge. Install the plug in the Coil (Not in the motor), hold it to the metal head and give it a few pulls of the starter. Should spark if all is good.
4. Air - If the first two aren't correct it won't matter if it gets air or not. Pull the filter off all together. Will likely need a clean and or replace anyway.
Any corrections please do so as i like to learn myself.
