Afternoon all, well for a few days I've been building this. I was curious and wondered if it could be done and what it would take me to build one. This is still rough as its the final mock up before tarting it up.
So all my 5th scales now have easily removable towbars which are made out of spare Baja ball joints. I'll probably never use it but boredom, curiosity and an engineering mind couldn't let it rest.
Anyways here's the pics.20201008_123600.webp20201008_123643.webp20201008_123709.webp20201008_123824.webp

Front draw bar is removable so it fits in my car.
Dimensions are
1000mm long (not including draw bar)
600mm wide (plus wheels)
And sits approx 120mm tall on its wheels.
I have multiple positions for wheel chocks depending on which model is on the bed.

You should start a recovery service. I have a little warn winch you can use. Z will be a loyal customer.??
Too far to travel to help Z, im in the UK remember lol.
I don't think it'll ever be dragged around a field fast, but it'll come in handy to drag another model to bash sites from the car plus its something to talk about.

Good job!!(y)(y)(y) I could have used that the other day when the batteries in key DBXL e 2.0 died then I realized that I was about 50yds. From the car lol.. I took the strap off my lipo bag and used that as a tow strap

Dog leashes work great, and don't cost a fortune like the rc tow straps, that are really just expensive dog leashes.?

My 5 year old tells me to go get my own trucks, he's too busy playing with his Gravedigger lol.
I always keep a drag lead in my pocket, its not fun kicking or carrying 5th scales back to the car.

Lol that's funny...no it's not fun.. just got back from a nice bash session at a kinda sorta local bmx track. 1st time there just found out about it yesterday but it was a BLAST cant wait to go back
I need to do something with my shocks seemed like it kept bottoming out. Still has the stock fox shocks with 40wt fluid and I have read that the 5t shocks are better? But could someone give me some advice or point me to a thread? I did stiffen the springs some. Thanx for any advice

don't know if they did a total redesign on the 2.0 shocks or not. Are you sure they have 40wt fluid in them? The 1.0 version used much heavier diff fluid. The 5ive t shocks are much better, what I run on my dbxl.

The manual said when rebuilding the shocks to replace with 40wt so I'm assuming that's what's in it.. I just added the front orange and red 5t springs to my wishlist on rc planet. I have a few things coming next week that I just ordered for the RC's so cant get them yet
