Spektrum Radio Issue

I have a Nomadio React, I know it is not the same radio, BUT.. A guy that I run with has the same radio as me. His was working fine and mine was not getting good range. Sometimes I would get 50 yards and sometimes I would only get about 20 yards..
What we found out was, when I put the receiver into the radio box. It was done in such a way that the antenna led looped over the battery and then over the servo wires then exited out the box. So I moved the receiver so that all the servo wires where on one side of the receiver and the antenna wire was all by itself on the other side. This fix gave me back the range I should of had in the begining, and got rid of my glitching.
The radio works flawlessly, now...

Yes loping the antenna weir around the battery or a source of power can have bad effect on you electronics performance.

UPDATE

I got rid of the spektrum radio, I could have sent it away, but I did not have the time to deal with it. I just decided to get a 2.4 gig Futaba FAAST system, slapped it in and I have no more problems. I think I will stick with Futaba radios for all my planes and cars.

Thanks again for all your help.
