I was wondering if it is worth purchasing a spektrum radio now if most planes you buy now come with a 2.4 ghz radio which limits the frequencies. Thank you very much. shy

I think that you are worrying about the potential for interference with possible frequency saturation.
The answer all radio manufacturers are giving at the moment is THERE IS NO PROBLEM. IT IS PERFECT .... time will tell I suppose.
Al.

interference wise you wont have a problem, what a spekky will let you do is make allot of fine adjustment that stock radio's wont do. so if you want to fine tune get the spekky, if your planning on getting more toys and want to use one radio get the spekky.
if its just a temp hobby that you will take out now and again stock to the stock unit.

thank you sperera

May be worth changing your servos if they are the stock units. A few with the KM buggys have experienced problems with the stock servos and had runaways. You would be looking at a total loss with a plane :(

as i understamd it, spektrum are owned by Horizon Hobby, who also own lots of model making companies. So when you get a 2.4ghz with a RTR model, it's often just a Spektrum radio with a different label and a few features removed.

I agree with Sperra, if you are going to get into aircraft in a big way, get the radio with all the frills, if not, the stock one will heep you amused.

Just had my dx3s fail on me was working fine shut it off too clean the rig an bs with the neighbor an never turned on again .I replaced an check battery power all the way up to the circuit board is ok an the switch light turns on but no screen .

just wondering if anyone seen this before ? I emailed Horizon hobbies and no input yet

Well horizion hobby hooked a brother up sent my radio in for repair and before I could call to see were the radio was in the line of repairs it showed up today.awsome customer service .the repair said they replaced the encoder board W/new batts to boot :cup-1:

Just a little something you should know. You think you purchased a high speed 3 channel radio don't you? You should know that if you put your radio into 5ms mode, which is it's high speed mode, the third channel will not work. It is only a high speed, OR a 3 channel radio, it can't do both at the same time.
