Well decided to get myself a small electric for when the FG's give me the sh*ts or something quite is in order.

So purcahsed a second hand traxxas slash off a mate.

Its RWD, has a 9t brushless motor and 45a ESC.

Took it for a quick squirt on sat and already love it. Had to stop when a mate accidentally stepped on it and snapped the steering arm that comes off the front hub. but popped into the local hobby store, purcahsed a pair of front hubs and bearings for $7.95 :o Im not used to these low prices having been into FG for years

Ill get some pics of it during the week and post up.

So far ive replaced the cooling fan on top of ESC as the one it came with had broken fins, the front hub, and the antenna tube. next im going to find some thicker oil for the shocks as its a bit soft for my liking.

had a play with the program card last night, was set up for low voltage cut off at 2.8v per cell so set it to 3.2 which I think is correct for my 2S lipos, also had drag brake on which I turned off and lastly had no reverse so turned that on but still doesn't work for some reason, push the trigger foward and nothing. just have to live with that I suppose.

to be honest shane I wanted a e-revo 1/10 for some time but cant justify the price, not when that kind of money can go into my FG's and get them more competitive for when the track opens down here.

but when a mate said he was selling this and the price was very good I jumped on it and glad I did, awesome having something different to have fun with when im not in the mood for the large stuff.

jeez that elec slash looks pretty slow!

ok heres a couple of snaps I took last night.

body is pretty beaten up but ill get another, everything else is in excellent condition, hardly a scratch underneath. came with spare used chassis, 4 tires and rims and some other small bits and peices.

ran two battery packs at knox and had a ball. tires i had were useless and it was very wind, so everytime I got some air off a jump the slash would be taken for a ride LOL.

very hard to get the nose down in the air. even with 100% brakes it doesn't respond, i think 4WD would be allot more responsive.

here's a quick vid of my bad driving, this is my first attempt on a track and the tires are more on road than off road.

ok starting to have a few issues with bolts coming loose from the slash, so far the long chrome bolt, goes through the rear swing arm chassis end keeps coming loose and also the top shocker bolt, goes into the shock tower is coming loose.

can I just apply a bit of glue to stop these from backing out?

im assuming that they are coming out because the threads are rooted, instead of me replacing the shock mount and rear swing arms im thinking glue might be a temp fix.
