I think it's like anything. even in 1:1 cars people tend to over carburate. well back before fuel injection anyway. thinking a 350 chev needs a 750 double pumper when really a simple rochester quad is all you need to supply enough fuel. I have a book here smokey yunick (spelling?) a great engine guy in racing talks about this and I learned a lot about jetting and stuff. I was into doing that stuff when I was younger. I just now prefer doing table mechanics hehe

yeah very true. think i might stick to the 668 and just get a better pipe.

the 4wd is now all clean and ready for another day in the sun :D

I quite like the look of the white rims on it.

didnt have a good run with the 4wd over the weekend. once again having engine probs with this one.

sat took it out and it didnt want to idle, had to lean off the ls to get it to idle. then hs was way too lean, had to richen that, rain came so only got 10 min run.

yeasterday went to run it again and same problem, ls too rich and hs too lean, this is after ive only adjusted them the previous day

so spent 5 mins tuning it and got it running nice but not sure why the tun keeps changing?

got the 813 in it, only run a tank though it.

got a 668 on order so might go back to that and see how it goes!

have the needles been adjusted a lot? sometimes the o ring to keep em still wears out... though they usually unscrew and richen when that happens from motor vibration

i got the carby second hand, from a mate, who said he only ran one tank in it, ive only run one and a bit tanks so it hasnt had much usage at all.

yep and those are completley stock rovan rims with hostiles on the rear and bowties on the front. those rears have done over 70 tanks, stock bead locks, stock bolts stock/original foams!

put my new 668 on the 4WD last night, new tefolon gaskets on inlet as well.

noticed that LHR hub is completley locked, no idea whats causing it, hoping to have a look tonight. its got new rubber sealed bearings on it so hopefully not them.

if not the bearings not sure what else could have caused it to seize. ill get some pics tonight.

anyone know an easy way to remove the wheel wizards once both bolts have been removed? i tried to remove it last night to look at the bearings but couldnt get it off.

put some rp7 on the bearings before I left for work and when I got home they were all nice and loose, looks like i will have both FG's going for the weekend :D Awesome!

installed a new 668 with all new teflon gaskets before sats run. started off real well, didnt touch the needles from how it came and ran very nice, nice consistent idle and good revs up top. first tank had a blast, 4wd hadn't run like this in a while!

second tank though only got 1/4 way though it, was running full noise and then dead silence, all four wheels locked up. thought crap >:( ive seized the engine. upon closer inspection it looked like something in the clutch had failed as I could still pull the pull start but drive was enguaged.

so took it apart last night and :o what a failure, clutch carrier had snapped in half and the bearings in my gear carrier had well and truly failed. got a couple of pics but cant get them up till tommorow so stay tuned!

no haven't got around to the batteries yet. hopefully this weekend. trying to get my garage ready for our first club meeting this weekend. I said I would host it if the weather is crap and what do you know, rain all day LOL

here's some pics of the the broken clutch and gear carrier.

I should also point out that this is the original gear carrier and in total has done about 70 tanks so I cant complain!

new gear carrier just arrived, all I need to do is pop the support mounts off the old one and press them into this, guessing it wont be that hard.

yeah ive never seen it either, but that carrier has done over 70 tanks so im not complaining, just wished it happened later in the day so I could have more fun with it LOL.

i should have bought an alloy one but cant afford it right now. not coz there's anything wrong with it but just to bling it up a bit.

ill have to do another 70 tanks and stuff this one before I can get my alloy plate
