JP's usually have the best mounting ive come accross but just don't have the power down low.

before I go buy a pipe though I need to confirm what I can use when racing, don't want to spend $250+ on a pipe and then not be able to use it during a race!

took the 4WD to carrum downs on Sat, met up with a couple of members and had a blast. Ran 1.5 tanks without an issue.

I have to say after the rebuild its better than new. so smooth, handles great, very happy, amazing what new bearings and shock oil will do!

still cant believe this engine is still going after injesting some dirt but im going to make the most of it :D

vid of saturdays bash, taken by me, steve and brad.

mines the white FG baja 4WD that nearly takes out the camera man, steve is the home made 5b looking elec brushless job and JD has a MCD and 5B.

the air steve's elec was getting was massive, even did a backflip once.

yeah very happy with how it went, the 2,000wt is a perfect balance between feel for the flat and small/medium jumps, I don't like it hitting the chassis but want good feel as well, seems to be right, id just like more bite from the front end so I might try softer springs up in the rear.

nuts isnt it! in the flesh its just magic, clears that big mound with no run up where the rest of us have to start 20 meters back and still not get that kind of air!

looks like im still having trouble with my receiver battery. charged it on sat, sat on the bench, chraged again last night and it took 1500mah and still wasnt full! looks like I need a new one.

I just got 3 new 2650 mah 3s lipos for my rides. have a spare as well. I hooked on lipos. even my e cig has lithium (I quit smoking 38 days ago after 27 yrs) ... had to be a cool gizmo to keep me interested I guess

did you ever take a voltmeter to those cels? does one cel get warmer than the others when charging? do any cels not get warm? could even try hooking up a bulb to each cel to get some power drain going and see if one is weak (have to be a fair draw)

never got around to taking the wrapping off the pack and check the cells indavidually, don't think im going to bother, just use them until I can replace them, they have had a hard long life, over 70 tanks on one and not sure on the other.

good work with quitting smoking, I want to quite one day but not right now.

when im charging they do get warm, but not much, prolly coz I only charge them at 0.5v

ran 1.5 tanks in the FG on sat at carrum, sorry no pics or vids :-[

towards the end of the run something is casuing a fairly loud metallic rattle, had a couple of mates listen to it and it sounds internal from engine, but im thinking if soemthing is loose or rattling inside the engine there's no way its going to run, and it was running fine even after the rattle.

its due for a wash so ill just spray it down, have a quick look and see if I can find whats causing the rattle.

Sounds like a small pebble is rattling in your fan shround or clutch case. Do you have the mesh mod done to the motor? If not you may want to check your teeth on your flywheel.;)

thats what i though but sometimes the rattle would go away and come back after a FWOT run. ill pull the pull start out and see if I can see anything.

finally had some spare time last night and gave the FG a quick once over.

i think ive found what was causing the rattle. the customer stainless steel side plates I had fabricated locally, couple of the screws had come loose, causing what I think the side plate to rattle against the chassis, ive tightened them back up so will take it for another run over the weekend see what the problem is.

I had the pull start off to inspect flywheel to see if anything was in there causing the rattle and decided to turn the motor over by hand, feels very low on compression compared to the best.

I think a new engine or engine rebuild isnt far off. :( thats only about 25ish tanks out of this motor, nothing compared to my usual 40+ :D

had a bit more spare time last night so decided to give it a bench test to see if that rattle is still there.

its is :(

i really don't think its engine releated, starts easy, revs fine, settles back to a nice idle. cant be clutch coz thats working fine. almost sounds like its in the exhaust, maybe the silencer is coming loose or something ???

going to try and run it over the weekend and really give it hell, if the rattle is engine related and something fails ive decided to buy another long block (when I can afford one) and slowly rebuild this one for the beast when the G260 in that dies.

didnt get a chance to run the r/c's over the weekend :(

cant even remember the last weekend I wasnt able to get them out, guess I shouldnt be complaining..........

decided to record the rattle im concerned about, i honeslty don't know where its coming from. if you got a sec have a listen and let me know what you think. the noise is mainly evident around at idle and can really be heard between 38-44sec mark.

its a bit hard to hear exactly the rattle your talking about but I hear a vibration rattle. The only thing you can do with one is start putting pressure on each item until it stops. Try upping the idle on the carb until you can get the perfect vibration idle. It sounds metal to metal like gear vibration or as easy as a washer on a rod.

does sound very metallic I agree, ive tried putting pressure on different bit, in your opinion does it sound like internals of engine or something exterior of engine?
