I have a brand new 5ive T and I just got done installing the kill switch. I installed a couple of other things, one of them being a Spyder air filter (oil less.) it’s in a velocity short stack off the carb and while trying to get it fit right with body cage I eventually took it off for some reason. After doing so I saw a good amount of black rubber on the stack and in the air filter from the filter being pushed around on the stack. I vacuumed it up and reinstalled the filter.

Now my question basically is how do I know there isn’t more black rubber shavings/dust inside the filter and when I go to start this thing for the first time it pulls it into the carburetor and engine? I know there is no way to know, but can the engine handle any of this or will it just destroy the thing I have thrown a couple of days getting ready to run the first time?

Maybe I should just put the stock filter back on and look at another option… crazy Stu’s intake wasn’t available last I looked on DDM.

I’ll take the filter back off tomorrow and add some pictures to what I am talking about.

Picture unrelated unless you are ready for the Testicle Festival tomorrow. Then very related.

Cheers,
Pico

I don’t necessarily want or need Crazy Stu’s I just want to be oil less. Maybe that’s not an option and I should just go the dome filter thing I saw in a post.

I will be adding a Bartolone pipe as well.

Yea those filters sat pretty tight on any velocity stack or any other kind of aluminum filter housing. Get rid of that thing and get a dt1 foam filter

I use grease or the 2 stroke oil on the velocity stack and on the filter rubber. Detaches/attaches clean now. In addition, it will become easier to install and uninstall after some running time.

I don’t like oiled foam filters maintenance.

Worked like a charm.
