Did you make the bevel gears or is this from an existing kit? Looks like it might be an FG dif?

One last question then. Would you mind me asking what material you used and if you hardened it?

Lots of questions but I am going down a similar path and while I have the machines don;t have all the experience yet to cut good bevel gears. But I am thinking it may be better to cut my own.

Chassis from iron tube (seamless ) and aluminium 5083.
Hardened parts ? only diff gears.

Yea, that's what i was saying.. I've been labeled "disabled" by the doctors, and because of the further injury to my spine and knees i've been causing myself they contacted my contractor insurance and had me shut down (own my own businesses) so i'm not making any money working and i'm also not drawing a check from the government for the dissability either.

I also mill and turn all my parts manually as i don't have any CNC equipment of my own. again you do really great work!!

Did you make those brake calipers as well? If so (or either way really) can we get some close ups of them?

I've been working on my own setup due to the price of the marketed ones and my situation of cash. And just recently learned the integy kit (which is affordable) requires axle spacers because the calipers are too big, so it looks like i'm back to the drawing board on making my own setup.

Now that you mention it i totally see the resemblence to your master for the brakes and the one on the back of my GSX-R 750 :D

Yes , I made these calipers , but I don't know if you could use these , in your built. (dimensions)
These calipers have many working hours , from the cast piece ,to caliper.

So, maybe it isnt a low buget part.

Master cylider for rear brakes , many times are the same .(nissin )

THanks, I later fouind your thread on the caliper build. FOr me building something is now days easier than buying as i have a mill and lathe, as well as tons of metal stock, stock piles of misc. oneumatic and hydraulic parts and fittings and a good variety of tooling for the metal workign machines i have.

The casting would be beyond my means right now as i don''t have a foundry at all but have what i'd need tomake one, i just haven't had the need for it. I've been working on my own calipers from chunks of raw 6061-t6 block/plate, i'm always just looking at new ways to make things and new ideas. sorry to go off topic there... any more updates on this build?

I love this thread...this is the kinda stuff I like to see! I would like to try to build something from scratch myself in the near future and seeing your project is inspiring...I do have a small lathe and mill already and have made some rather small simple parts for allot of projects but you have some well rounded talent there...I look forward to following this project. I need a rotary table for the mill...which would open the door to allot more possibilties..Great job man!

Definitely looks good.
The shocks actually look small!
That must be huge.
Do you have an FG or 5B to line up alongside?
Al.

Thanks Al .

I tried hard to make them (shocks) so small.
35mm wheel travel - 20mm shock travel.

Photos and video from 1/5 championship , next week.

Didnt you see the photo ?

don't worry , it will be ready to race this week again , without injury.

Nope, aint seen no photo is it on this thread?

Great drop some videos how much did it has to build as i love this i wouldn't mind doing something like that to keep me busy... i would buy that off you if it was for sale lol
