Okay. Awesome. We've been running with the stock needle settings and just adjusting a tiny bit here and there when ambient temperature is super different.i personally would look at that and go, its not silver so its not too lean and its not pitch black so it aint too rich. if you've got decent low end grunt and its revving well then i would say its plenty good enough for bashing. dial it in too perfectly on a warm day and it'll be too lean on a colder day
yeah if its idling well once warm there should be no smoke if you're using a decent oil and it should be able to idle indefinatly. if its picks up off the line well (no bogging once the clutch is fully engaged) and its revving high then you're pretty much perfect. im sure theres some far more experienced people than me out there that could tell you the specifics of everything from the plug though.Okay. Awesome. We've been running with the stock needle settings and just adjusting a tiny bit here and there when ambient temperature is super different.
We could go a bit more on the low end but it can burn out no problem. Idle seems good. Guess we're doing something right.
yeah once its properly warmed up it'll rev even higher. go watch some youtube videos on running big bore engines like 50cc's ad you can really hear with them the first few pulls they rev real low then once they're warm they start screamingWe noticed last time out that it seems to find an even higher rpm after running for a good bit and on really long full throttle pulls.

I've been over the proper way to read a 2 stroke plug a few times now. If I get time I'll have to make a new thread for it, or get someone to let me update the existing sticky. So sorry. I don't even understand half the lingo here. 'Chop'? It's hard to understand what looks like a very informative info graphic when I have literally never seen a 2 stroke plug before 20 minutes ago.
But this looks very informative. I didn't even know I was supposed to be looking at this ceramic bit hidden by the threaded part.
Okay. Duh. It's all in the article.
Thank you @Seandonato73
Very informative read. Thank you!Its not a fricken 4 stroke stop reading the plug like it's one. All the tip tells you is a general state of tune, and it's a poor indication of that. Chop the plug and look at the porcelain at the base, there will be a line around the base thay will indicate top end tune. Here's a graphic.
If your going to give advice make sure it's pertinent to the engine.
