Anyone know where I can order a well rounded screw replacement set for my MT...

Might need some screws when prime bashing season starts.

The set is great I have never in many years had any problems with rc screwz if you have more then 1 car and different formats you will always find a bolt screw or nut that will fit and have many spares. Also saves alot of time on having to shop for many different size nuts screws bolts washers.

Thats the way I looked at it. Simple, all in one set, and not needing to buy a set here and there adding up to much more.

Should I be worried about strength... Never heard of screws failing on an RC car.

The strength problem comes from stripping the allen head.

SS screws stretch easily, so as long as you are diligent with tightening and use good Allen drivers, you won't notice a problem.

Yeah, what he said! Be careful it is easy to not set the driver in all the way and round out the hole. But I have a ton of drill bits and drill off the head and use visegrips to get the screw out.

Have a couple stripped screws right now. Going to try the dremel slot method. How do you grab on to the screw after driling it off...Wouldn't think theres much screw sticking out after the heads been removed.

I have been lucky. I drill the head off and usually the plate that it was attached to will leave enough thread to get a Visegrip pliers onto. I also take a soldering iron and hold it on the broken screw to loosen any Loctite that may have set up.

I'm going to do your method after I try a couple of screw extractors. At least it seems like the boyz and gals were generous with their loctite guns in China.

Well guys avoid rcscrewz like the plague. After swapping over 20 plus screws it turns out the larger hex screws do not fit flush on the chassis.

After requesting the correct size he mentioned that his screws are large due to the stainless steel being .05 larger and stronger. He said to make the slots larger with a reamer and an exacto knife. I replied I did not want to hack my chassis and to send the correct sizing.

Refund was offered but I replied I did not want to absorb the cost of return shipping, being in Canada it would cost about 30$$. Not sure if thats unreasonable but I'm now going to have to remove the screws and find a new set with my time.

Just get a countersink tool from the hardware store:

Really... look how close the slots are at the corners... Wouldn't it possibly crack off at the corners.

I'd also be restricted to always using rcscrewz in the future with the reamed out holes.

Is this normal practice to mod the chassis after upgrading screws..

I would get steel screws if I were you.

I tryed several screws and all have bigger flat heads. I think redcat uses non standart M4 flat head screws.
