Thought it would be faster, but it looks like the age old problem of not enough space.

It's driven off the thrust . It would be a lot faster if it were driven off the turbine with a trans.

Exactly more space means les inertia once yo to speed and more speed. I reckon given enough space big triple figure could be seen but it would be of eye sight before you blink.

If you really wanted I'm sure you could run off the turbine shaft . They build RC boats with turbines and prop driven .

Of course you could but the clutch system might be prohibitive. When you start thinking about the engagement speeds and forces. One thing in a full size boat or chopper where gearboxes weigh the same or near enough as the engine, another thing in a 1/5th scale.
