In case you didn't see the previous thread: I traded a guy my Baja 5b electric and a Losi LMT for this Mega Truck. It needs a little TLC, but is still in decent shape.

Im going to start with the shocks. Shock oil is leaking everywhere! I got the v4 shock upgrade bits. One shock had no oil in it🤣

The tires make good shock stands. I wasn't sure exactly how to fill these. I compressed the shock all the way with the shock oil filled all the way to the top and put the cap on. A little oil came out the bleeder hole. There is barely any rebound, but I'm not sure these actually need that. Any thoughts?

No rebound is the goal. If they extend there is air and you will bend the shafts. I fill mine to top with shafts pulled completely out. Put cap on and compressed with cap on just barely snug, crake cap open and any excess or air comes out. Repeat if necessary and if shock continues to extend you have air or bad seal. A small amount of extension, half inch or less is OK, anything more keep bleeding. No pumping etc is needed. Probably have oil about half inch from top of shock when done, not to top. Again goal is no extension after completion but just a tad is ok.

Sweet! That is pretty much how they are set up. When I compress the shock, they might rebound 1/8 to 1/4 inch. One of them had a little more, so I unscrewed the cap and let it bleed some.

Perfect....l learned the hard way about bending shafts,$$$,. Watched Adam drake, world champion on utube for procedures...lots of good tips!!!!

Cheap to replace but l would rather see you put a set of Johnny Crash Racing rotors on along with new pads. Disassemble the calipers and clean, lightly grease the moving parts of calipers and reassemble. I had a : BRAKE CAM: freeze up and destroyed a JCR rotor . I bought 2 sets of JCR rotors, relatively cheap and new primal pads and have found them to be the way to go. I also made sheet metal pads to run in between the primal pads and rotors. Trace a primal pad on metal. Rough trim to size, stack 4 together drill and finish trim. I just used a ginder. Drop of super glue on pad to sheet metal pad won't hurt. Been running that on my second truck probably 2 years. Works great but not as a progressive stop as JCR rotors and primal pads. The JCR rotors do require some mild file work to get them to slide onto drive shafts and l also trim the driveshaft retaining: PINS: for clearance . The rotors need to slide.

Nows the time to put the bushings on the pinion shafts and either clearance the differentals for nylock nut and longer screws or at a minimum pull the diff screws, clean ,relocked tite and use a pointed punch to stake the bolts to the housings. The ring gear loosening on the differential has been the biggest issue on these trucks. We all get the bushings on Amazon. I know l took a photo and show the diff mod, bushings part number in the second truck thread. I'm going to take a look It's in the Grave Digger Taylor 50 update thread. Shadowman also contributed to the thread, he's been a great inspiration and friend throughout my experiences!!!!

I just ordered the brass bushings for the pinion shaft. I am just going to stake the bolts to the housings because they have held up fine on stock power. After reading through yours and other's threads, I have decided I am 100% leaving the stock motor in and enjoy it for what it is. If I want some speed later, I'll pick up a 5t or a Kraken Trophy Truck.

I also ordered the upgraded reverse kit and 38kg servo.
