I'm looking at sorting out my steering for track use. I've tried the double servo route and ended up burning out a few even when calibrated. I've heard good things about the Tonegawa servos so wondered if anyone here has used one.

The Spectrum setup is 4S to get the same power and also considerably more expensive. Also more expensive to replace parts.

I've killed:
Kpower 4000 - bent steel dowel pins where the plastic retaining ring was sub 1mm and wore through the case causing it to slip. The servo lacked power anyway.
Savox 0236 - one gear came loose in its housing. Odd breakage to be honest but the servo lacked power.
Hitec 5765 - two motors failed
Hv2060 - chipped tooth. Cheap servo but lacks power. The gears are pot metal.

And yes, my servo saver is slackened off and the dual servos were calibrated.

The Savox, kpower and hv2060 actually work quite well but just don't turn the wheels on a grass track like they need too.

I did consider going dual Savox/HV clone but the setup for doing that is near enough to a Tonegawa setup for me to just think about getting the Toni
