touring car setup nightmare!! spinning out

im happy just car park bashing mate its just good fun no presure go where you like do what you want,now if there were tracks/club around here then i would be racing but its just not posible,plus i want it mainly for drifting so most my changes from now are being based on that low gears less rear grip locked up diff and maybe a gyro for a little advantage

Reminds me of when I take the Macca out.
I warm up the rears by doing donuts and try to warm the fronts by cadence braking - then I finish by placing against a wall and doing a burnout - not healthy!!
Can't help it. It's very limited out front, so I let the Macca cool off and get the MT out!!

I raced for about 12/13 years but sadly with smaller scales on and off road..

I said no front toe and Mike said he ran with 5-8mm of front toe..
it could be that these bigger cars just work differently to the older smaller cars.

i too come from smaller scale stuff, the biggest difference is the small scale onroad stuff is almost always 4wd (aside from 1/12 pan cars) and they like a different setup overall. i originally tried my 1/5 scale set up like a 1/10 scale, that didnt work at all. what i did find though is that everything i adjusted had the same affect on the cars, however the large scale 2wd a small adjustment makes a huge difference. i always found with 1/10 scale i could make several adjustments at the same time to get what i wanted (once you know those cars well enough you can get away with that) but 1/5 scale you really need to make one small change at a time and keep track of what everything does.

tire choice is the most important thing, however on a dirty parking lot not a lot is going to help. id suggest soft tires, i myself run fairly soft springs, no swaybars and remove the droop screws to keep it from lifting a tire in corners. this is out of the ordinary but i find it works well for me on parking lots.

hey guys sorry my reply has been so long from the end of the weekend. well i took the car to the carpark the carpark was beautiful and perfectly smooth just tarmaced like a race track lovely.
i sofened up the front and rear slightly and bought a metal ruler like mike suggested and now have proper ride height i run 20 on the rear and 14 on the front. changed the toe in angle at the front there is still a slight toe but not very much at all. the changes worked great i think its also down to the surface but the car didnt break lose as much especially once i warmed the tyres, ohh and i reduced the amount of rear camber which as many of you said did enable more surface to heat up and give more grip.
so ya the car was nice not perfect it tended to spin out on exit from corners still slightly, but i got some fantastic drift action really cool, with tyre squeal too and the doughnuts could do them endlessly never get bored of leaving circles of rubber .

oh ya bugger forgot to say was having so much fun i didnt notice the botton screw came out of the front right hub so the tyre seized n was dragging at and angle, think i've warped the brake disk because the wheel sticks at cirtain parts doh plus some dodgy guy kept eyeing up the car n hanging about grr.
