I just wanted to throw this out for anybody that might be stripping screws consistantly or has lost a set screw... If you are stripping out your set screws on any of the transmission shafts you can use stainless steel set screws from Ace Hardware. You can replace them for around $5. Grind a flat spot on the tips and they will hold much better.

that is a great tip. i have one stripped in my mt, but its holding the pin so far.. i'll have to check out the hardware store and see what i can find, thanx

It is kinda weard that that shaft is 2 pieces, and the coupler is the brake square. I use steel set screws from my local bearing supply house, I do grind them flat and loctite them though. I have had way to many bad experiences with stainless fasteners.

Well you cant torque down ss fasteners to tight in my opinion and they strip easy. That hub piece should be one piece i red loctited mine first day i got mine
