Because of the way the crank case is designed the motor is not a drop in swap. The case has an extra bolt at the bottom that sit on the rear centre drive shaft. I think I have 2 options 1 remove this bolt and dremel a notch out of the case to clear the shaft or 2 stick the motor I my Hpi baja. I bought this for the redcat not baja so any help or previous experience would be great thanks.

I have read that some guys have notched the case to fit them in Mcd should I do the same to get it it the MT any help would be great.

I'm just going to mod it and make it fit can't be to hard just didn't really want to touch the case but I'm confident that it will fit fine once I put a notch in the case. :)

Put this in your other post first, guess I should have put it here.

In case anyone is wondering, here is what has to be done to the case to clear the drive shaft. I did it to both sides the pic is only of one side of the case. You have to remove the metal almost all the way into the threaded area where the bolt goes through. If you take a little to much off and you can see the bolt in the hole its not a big deal, still plenty of threads in there for the bolt and your gasket goes around the bolt hole so you won't have any leaks.
