Turtle racing pull start?

I’ve been running into the same issue with my Turtle Racing pull starter on my RC 30.5cc build from OBR. I’ve gone through 2 cog springs. Both aluminum and plastic cogs. The pull start has stopped retracting. Stock pull start recoil springs break during every run. I was thinking about buying one of those GP460 pull starts and adapters.

Dear savage24X,
I have experienced all the problems that you have documented.
I have a pulling technique for starting my motors. There is an OBR video that shows the proper way to start a high compression motor.
I been using this technique for a couple of years now and it works great.
I have extra plastic Cogs and Springs in my stock and haven't had to use them in years.

Thanks, unfortunately that’s the way I’ve been pull starting my engine. The recoil springs randomly break in the middle of running the engine. Could be 30 seconds, could be 45 seconds. I spoke to Sean about this issue and verified correct 28:1 oil mix and flywheel to ignition gap. I ordered the RCMax pull starter and will give that a go. After that, I guess my only option is to send it in for Sean to check out.

You guys seriously shouldnt be breaking stock pull starts. I would say 90% of us run stock starters on our obr engines, without much issues.
I have not broke any pullstarts just got the turtle one from someone new and wanted to try then found out their junk so went back to stock

I just got my OBR engine with the TR pull start on it. After 3 pulls, it appears the spring broke inside. I would assume it was a manufacturing defect and not TR's fault. Has anyone have any experience with this unit? Should I get it repaired or look for something else?
The TR pull start is expensive junk . Same thing happened to me . The stock OBR pull start works great.

All my issues in the past were starting the motor.
Once the motor started everything was fine. Let me know how the RCMax performes.
