Why other than cost are U-Joints NOT used or as an upgrade , I seems they would take more power IF made right ,than dog bones ?

Well if they were telescopic you could use them any where I assume ( you would have to have size ranges ) On 4wd for the main drive shaft they could be to size , for Baja or the wheel drives they have to be telescopic.

Vekta uses similar to that for the rear driveshaft
If i had to take a guess there probably would be more parts involved and more steps in design and machining. U joints have 4 contact spots,4 places to keep secured with clips or pins and i believe most cv's have one pin and 2 contact points. It probably just isn't worth the added time

And the u joint style shaft used in the dbxl liked to fly apart. Had a bunch of them laying around broken. Went dog bone and never looked back.
