Now go out and plow the roads and deal with all the morons of today. I'm in a 62,000 lb truck with a 11 foot wide plow, strobing lights and a hulking ass salt spreader hanging off the back. Guess what doesn't stop on a dime. Guess what every dumb ass in lancaster thinks. The big ole plow truck stops, starts and drives like their 4x4 dream powered yuppie mobile. Drives me nuts. Almost backed over a full size pickup last year clearing out an intersection. Guy was so far up my arse I didnt know he was there. Couldn't push the pile any more so I had to back up and get a bit of steam going. Hooked it in reverse, started letting the clutch out. Thought I heard a horn beep.... looked back. Nothing. Started backing up again. Heard a horn again. Threw it in neutral, popped the brake got out. Here this idiot going mental about why I would back up in an intersection, couldn't I see he was behind me? He shut up.pretty quick when I got up to his truck and told him to get the hell out from behind my truck before I run his dumb ass over. Got back in the truck in time to see the idiot try to go through the pile of snow in front of me and get stuck. At that point I called the cops, and the tow company. Btw this was at 3am. Cops got it out of they guy that he was just out joy riding in the snow. $250.00 in fines, $180.00 tow bill. Never seen the guy on a snow covered road again. And this is every snow. Really miss how it was when I was young. People knew how to drive, and if they didnt they stayed home till the roads were clear. None of this I own a cross over suv I can go wherever I want crap.

Add in budget cuts and more roads to take care of. We had 4 guys to take care of 65 miles of road. Now do the math. Each lane takes 2 passes of the plow to clear. So going both ways takes 4 passes. (And that doesn't count developments or cult du sacks) that's 260 miles of road per snow event. Now there are state roads that must be traversed to get to some of our roads. With the plows on the trucks we are limited to a maximum speed of 23 mph. It taken 20 + hours to plow our township already in heavy snow. This year we will have 6 guys plowing. Hopefully 8. That will cut our plow time in half. If we didnt have ancient equipment, and were able to get people to operate every piece of equipment we have it would take 1/4 the time to clear roads. If everyone would stay the hell off the roads that in its self would save tons of time.
Sorry for the rant... just the prospective of one of the guys clearing the roads
Definitely hear that. Used to live in AK, and seems for the most part that up there people understood that the plow is the reason you are able to get to work in the morning. So usually were given plenty of room. There were definitely a few "winners" for sure though. Down here in MT though, in town, it's a whole different story.

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: All you all whining about a little snow. You'd all hate me when I blow past ya doing 65 in my Camaro while its snowing out. Peeps need to learn how to drive in this stuff and get a good set of snow tires. All season tires are worthless.
You ain't blowing past poop over here since I can't even drive yet ??

Sean it's interesting to hear it from behind the plow lol.I stay away from you guys at all costs when you are plowing.I'm usually the guy following you about a 100 yards behind you.I leave super early for work every day so I always take my sweat time getting there. How long have you been doing that and is one of the reasons you guys are having a harder time plowing because lack of manpower.

lol wasnt wining about the snow, was wining about the wind ;) the ice kinda sucks in my car because its way too light, but just makes the drive to work more fun :P

Sorry Z I know the wolves are chomping at the bit but why don't they run.I am guessing they are long time projects or you change your mind during the build on final outcome.
Well pretty much. 1 1/2 ago I started building a 71cc off a Alx crankcase, about 5 weeks ago (maybe more , maybe less) I "completed" it, but when I went to run it, it didn't want to run (I was expecting this) so after many tries I got it to sort of run but it never wanted to becuase if the fuel it was running and the fact that it was a new build, ignition timing, tuning, spark plug heat, ect were probably off. So after more tries, 2 pull starts in between, I went to drill start it and damaged my crankshaft. So I gave up and wanted to sell it, 3 weeks ago I'm assuming, I decides I'll keep it and fix it, then last Friday I decided to still keep it but instead of rebuilding it, save all the winters money, put a smaller motor in and out the rest of the money towards upgrades for the actual truck, so next winter if I rebuild it, the truck can handle it. I'm looking to get it running spring time, and All the upgrades I want for now done by the start of summer. t

Damn sorry to hear that, that really sucks and I personally know the feeling I had the same issue happen to me with my track car.I purchased all the best parts I could afford and built the motor and waited years to get everything done and on the 5th dyno pull an injector failed and damaged the motor. It sucks but what are you going to do just let the rage and anger settle down and figure out a solution.I hope you get it done and post up a ton of vids and pics (y)

Yeah next winter hopefully it will run as intended ? but for now, Gunna make the less powerful but very durable. And that sucks about your motor ☹️

Yeah I have seen tons of videos but I can't imagine what they must cost 3000 plus I am guessing. It doesn't help when you have the peer pressure guys poking fun at you ehem ehem Doug and evssv uhummm.:p
They aren't that expensive. Alx ranges from 1450 euro for their super 40 to 2450 euro for their super 85. Rcmax is more expensive, probably becuase everything on their engine is their own parts vs alx uses some scooter parts (crank, cylinder, reed, ect), they range from 800 I think for their 40gt which needs a few parts (pipe, carb ect) all the way up to 3000 for their 80 supreme.

Yeah they aren't good enfluences ???

Z that ain't snow. It's called a dusting.

In our case yes, lack of man power and morbidly old equipment. Takes a lot to keep it going.
Only 3 years plowing roads for the municipality. Been plowing for local guys as long as I could shove a clutch in. When I quit my job as a mechanic and came to the township I knew I would hate winters plowing. Very different then plowing privately own lots and drives.
And thanks, I appreciate the few that give us space.?
Coop you ain't doing no 65 past me, I'll pepper the hell out of ya with the Salter ??
