The V3 have CVD on the Wheel side and bone/pin on the Diff sideforist said:They have the CVD joint on both ends of the shaft ? Or just the diff side ?
Not really....Usually when the pin falls out it means the set screw went slack and when this happens the pin starts to creep until it falls out, so it does not displace the load evenly across the diff cup, therefore the load is being applied to one side of the cup creating stress and it would eventually crack or break. So when you put the new pin in it could have been cracked already.Gee said:I just had the diff cup break on the V3 and prior to it breaking it had the pin fall out of teh cv on that cup. I replaced the cv witha spare one and was of messing around for a few minutes and the cup broke in half. So it could be and indication of something bad is going to happen to the cup if you loose a pin.
Old thread but I was searching for options on differential cups.
