Vertigo monster locker lost pin 1st run

Honestly I passed by it last time I was on deal of the day because I didn't like the o ring. Well it is a poop way to hold a pin in.

so one pin gets held in behind the spur gear which is good and the other for the rear driveline gets held by that o ring.

Fek that oring, time to get an external snap ring, or a retaining ring like on the diffs

Ah that was just an example for the type of ring I was talking about. Plus I didnt know the size or I would have looked for that specifically.

Ah I have a set of snap ring pliers specifically for that style. So it's not an issue I was thinking about.

Looks similar to this not really expensive. Trust me once you see how nice they work, you'll use them more. And they are relatively cheap

Edit, thinking about it, you can use a flat screwdriver to pop them in and out, or just get a regular snap ring. The tabs shouldnt really get in the way of anything, and they are cheap enough and wouldnt fail. The wire retention rings would really just look a bit cleaner imo.

Now now metal isnt just metal its the hardness im worried about. Drill bits weren't designed to take a side load if I use it like a pin thats all

Dude just use some SAFETY wire for wiring bolts in racing applications , 3-4 round's tie it off forget it , simple stupid and effective AND cheap ! and useful for many things on an RC , this is how I hold my axle boots on !

Problem is the groove is bigger than the wire so if the wire moves the pin will go flying

multiple wraps man ! the wire is light and SUPER strong

My problem with that is the knot/twist you have to make after you loop the wire. I feel like it would off balance the locker and wear bearings faster. Just my opinion

Agreed @crucialRC I bought 2 packs of stainless zipties from auto zone for 2 bucks a pack i guess nobody wanted them lol. I was going to use them but then got concerned with an imbalance
