My problem with that is the knot/twist you have to make after you loop the wire. I feel like it would off balance the locker and wear bearings faster. Just my opinion
at the diff/ from my calcs it is doing MAX 4,000 rpm a small amount of wire is not gonna unbalance any more than a NON balanced wheel thats for sure ! the Dam truck I have run on a stand wants to jump into the yard ! and trust me ur DOGBONES are NOT balanced , I think ur thinking to much lol ! >??
1" of .032" dia wire weights .0032 OZ BTW

I did use some 90 minute high torque silicone on the pin prior to making this thread. I figured if I can just get something to give the pin some resistance the o ring won't be my issue

Yeah but I would rather replace the wheel bearing than the diff bearing but like I said just my opinion. Like I said previously I would use a snap/tension ring. Way cleaner install.

Honestly I passed by it last time I was on deal of the day because I didn't like the o ring. Well it is a poop way to hold a pin in.

so one pin gets held in behind the spur gear which is good and the other for the rear driveline gets held by that o ring.

You could always use safety wire. Install the pin and wrap safety wire a few times around in the groove and twist it.

I am using the standard stainless pins on my Vekta after I tightened the set screw so tight that the oem pin snapped while I was driving it.I would just toss the stainless pin in there and the heatshrink will go all the way around and should be about as balanced as you can get

Haaa, sounds like they need to change their description!

But don't worry our o-ring retention system is by far the best way to secure the pins.?

I sometimes use a SHCS of required size, 8.8 or 10.9 4MM SHCS with a shoulder length to give you the desired pin length, cut the head and threads off to give a solid pin. Maybe O-ring, wrapped in a few layers electrical tape and then shrink tubing??

So I found pins close to me on ebay for about 11 bucks shipped comes with 6 and their for the hpi baja. Ddm is out of stock on anything that would work and vertigo is in BC Canada so that would take forever. I checked how the high torque silicone held up and I had to push on the pin pretty good to get it move so i think that would do just fine
