Washer on vertigo Losi 5t clutch bell carrier question

Is the washer on the Losi 5t clutch bell carrier needed . Because when I use it on this carrier compared to the other two vertigo carriers I have . The clutch bell becomes tight and doesn’t move freely . Here’s some pic included .

If it’s tight like that then don’t use it

If the button on the screw isn't wide enough to contact the face of the gear the pinion gear will come off the shaft. Short answer is yes its needed.

@BrapppnBuds its a vertigo clutch and pinion judging by the hex. Still needs a washer regardless of who makes it.

It looks like that gear sticks out just past the shaft. If this is the case then even with no washer that screw would still do the same thing and that is try to press the gear farther onto the shaft.
I also vote yes for the washer.
