What have you done to your KM Baja lately?

i have a jetpro v3,, screaming pipe on top end,,, great midrange ,, like a second gear,, but since I converted my buggy to a truck,, added the wt,, upped the tire size,, tried 18/56.. stock fuelie 30.5 don't have enough power to get out of its own way,,, was pretty good as a buggy,, less wt,, smaller tires,, but as a truck,, ah nooo,,,,, time to invest in a engine with more power,, its either a gizmo zen 30.5 full mod,, or a obr full mod,,, gizmo cheaper, comes with coil and lightwt flywheel already, vs obr has there billet crankcase,, which to get,,, both should run great with a v3,, since both engines have great torgue,,, contemplated getting rid of the v3,, and getting a bartolone torpedo,, or a victory big bore ( if anyone gets them back in stock)

Thanks , a lot of people seem to like the DDM 2 Dominator pipe , I wonder how it would compare to the thor pipe.

Well if we go out this weekend i can video roadrash's and my baja as the gearing, tires and engine are all the same, only difference is he has the thor and I have the v2 dom.

With the full mod 30.5 I would think the victory big bore would give a better power band all through, the torpedo seams more like a top end pipe.

I already have noticed that the zenoah has a lot more lower torque than my stock km had, it spins the tires real easy and does great dougnuts, my front yard shows it.

went back to 17/57,, is quite a bit better,, went played at local park,, took it up to speed,, found lots of water puddles in the field with the rain we been getting,,,,, even had a neighbors dog chasing it,, fun fun

I use very little ultra copper gasket sealer on the gasket,,, and when get little heat in engine,, double check the exhaust bolts and tighten a little more,,,,,, mine hasn't leaked

Going to jump in here. I got a KM Dark Knight off e-bay for little money. Practically brand new. No scratches on bottom pan. Lots of aluminum.
So tear down to really see what is what.
Got a quick diff to replace plastic unit. Got a 30.5 from KN for $150.00. Put a 990 carb on the front and a CPI BB on the back.
Had the large aluminum bumper on back. Pipe is a tight fit but works well.
I tore the engine down and broke a screw off in the crankshaft. That is why a new motor in the unit. New crankshaft on order. These KM motors come with a +2mm stroker stuffed crank. So it is worth rebuilding. The piston has almost now black on top.
Installed the Vertigo Easy Access clutch assembly. Nice touch.
Got some MX tires with Hostile foams and Silverback bead lockers.
I have a Kraken TSK cage ready to install.
I got the 5T conversion kit parts and did all HPI plastic.
Building this all from an online parts manual! Gets crazy but is working.
So I get to play with my Rampage MT in between parts arrivals.

Done:
Killer Kable Baja Suspension Cables
Killer bee kill switch
NGK spark plug

In progress:
Team associate shock oil

Other than that she alllll stock. Just how I like her. All natural lol.

Today I installed a new air filter setup . Switched from the stock foam to an emgo tapered air filter with DDM 1" velocity stack . Nice setup fits perfect found it on e bay for $19 , I mainly run on road so I should be ok , it has to flow alot better than the foam setup.

Converted it to a 5T. DDM Dominator V2 pipe. Walbro 990 carb. Hostile MX tires. Silver back beadlocks. Wrapped foams. Kraken stuff. TSK cage. Kraken front bumper. Turtle Racing aluminum quick change differential. Vertigo gear plate/easy access clutch unit. DDM Black Magic 57T with Vertigo 17T gears. Vent gas tank and air filter. Outerwear under engine wrap and the pull start filter. TSK body panels with DDM graphics package. Spare tire carrier in the mail to complete the look. New engine. A couple of things left to do and she is ready to bash hard!

Today, I didn't do anything to the baja, but did to my work area. I was using a small coffee table to work on my cars. With the addition of a 5th scale the table was just too small. I found a college student (architect) who had taken a heavy old door, attached legs to it to make a work desk. at 6'7" long and 2'4" deep it is perfect. The best part is that the inset cut will be perfect for keeping parts from rolling onto the floor of the garage when working on it. I took the old table and slid it underneath the new one to use for tool and parts storage. I now have plenty of work area and a cool new (and bright) work light. May not sound too exciting, but I"m geeked!!
