What did you polish the edges on?
J.

James i did the edge by hand :)using a small half round file and then 100 grit

emery cloth :clown:then onto 400 wet and dry paper and finished it with

1200 wet and dry paper then a quick :2guns:metal wadding polish

was at it all morning as under the blue is a:clown: primer coat but only

another 3 arms to go should have them done fore maybe next friday LOL

How did you get the edges so perfect, even with a steady hand you would still wander over the edge for sure? I didnt know anodisation had a primer?
J.

I like the break in color. I thought you were going to do the edges like xray does to their anno parts, just a camfoured edge is non anno.. I think that grey stuff is the pre stuff they use to clean and etch the metal. anno is so they don't have to polish the parts hehe

now that would have been more tricky barry to do just the chamfer

yep i think your right about the etching "stuff" i wonder what it actually is:)

its been a while:blush:but i started to put a couple bits together

this morning...the sump guard is a KCR003A and the "A" bar is a KCR004

here i made some large stainless washers to cover up the slots in the front bumper

1117.webp

these are 6mm black nylon66 washers i had made to space the gap

1116.webp

the rear of the arm i made stainless spacers (zero play)

1115.webp

the front drive squares are elcon 24mm wide which i had to mod slightly to enable the kpd brake disc to go over......the axles are long elcon and shown next to the longest FG make

more to follow when i get round to it :clown::clown:

in the last picture it is showing the steering stops

:2guns:fitted on the correct position which is on top of the ball joint

would be a waste of time as the hyd brake nipple would hit the arms first

sooooo i repositioned them like 8mm forward drilled a 4 mm hole in the

steering arm then made a 4mm to 7mm peg drill to counter bore slightly

the strengthening rib so the stops sat down correctly............

all good fun:shuriken:

all screws and fastenings are in stainless steel
