i'm rebuilding my 23cc in my baja with a big bore kit and my question is, i have the regular ss pipe and a xcan, witch would be better with a big bore till i get up the money to buy a dom pipe.

Which big bore?
26?
28.5?

How will you be running it?

Pavement/parking lot terror?
Sand dunes?
Flat grass like a football field?
Hill Climbing?
General all around bashing?

all around bashing. i was thinking about the 30.5 stroker with the stuffed crank. something about raw power makes me smile.lol

i,d go for a 26cc zenoah head kit and a dom pipe, i run a standard g230rc zenoah with a rovan copy dom pipe and its quick. the ss pipes are ok but can restrict the motor quite a lot,

The bigger the engine the more torque and less acceleration. For a good all-rounder get a DDM25.4cc BB kit. You'll have fun with them.

Both have 24.5 head kits. The Pajero runs a standard can and the beetle runs a Samba.

There is NO WAY that Pajero doesn't have a pipe on it! The sound is totally different and the performance is way higher than the stock can!

So what exhaust is really on that Pajero?

That Pajero vid makes me laugh every time I see it :clown::clown: It looks like it should be delivering the post not pulling wheelies :clown::clown: Thats what you get for breaking them in at WOT from the off :cool2:

i had a 26 zenoah before in my firehammer and wow it was something till POP. it was my bad so i didn't get mad i just got a 28.5 race ported head kit and a set of redcat rampage mt tires, then i stretched it out about 4" and mounted the 5t vw body on it and to top it off i'm running the buggy gearing. altogether it weighs about 35lbs, and that 28.5 will spin the tires no problem and get her up to speed . i love pure torque. i like to make things big, just like my pocket quad i turned into an rc. i'm going to rebuild it with the 30.5 stroker and stuffed crank but this summer i also want to get that zenah g260 4 bolt.

Straight up it is,ask Jacko or Jace, hyperpete,Pablo. They were there.

As you know Andy,I built three identical motors and broke them all in at WOT,never done me any harm.

more cc = more torque less rpm
less cc = less torque and more rpm (small bore = lighter and less friction ;) )

a larger cc engine will acellerate harder on the same gearing as less cc due to having more torque lower rpm, but the thing that revs the most will have a broader power band and should have a higher top end on said gearing.

£200 ish gets you a oddified ported head *23 or 26 cc, will be poop loads faster than any bolt on 30cc or 27.2 head ;)

I just don't see how... My FG MT 26zen with the stock can was a slug. So was the CY23 in my buggy..

Must be the girth of that body 12 inches from the center of gravity that caused the front wheels to rise...

guys i have the up most respect for ya's but we've kinda got off topic. more cc = more torque i know. i've been into rc for 22 years, been into petro for the past few years, but all i was asking is the xcan better for big bore than the ss pipe.

If you have both I would recommend trying both and see which one you like. The Xcan will be louder. The Xcan depending on the terrain you will be using it in can allow more crap to get in the can easier. I would use the ss pipe.

I like my x-can but have only had a stock can to compare it to. It makes a nice noise (loud) and give more power than stock and it can be fitted without hacking away at the shell. Im running a std Zen 26cc.

I think if you are going to the trouble of uprating the engine for more power then you have to use the best pipe to get the full benefit from it. Maybe look at samba or jetpro??

the thing with 2 strokes is the engine itself is only half the equation to making power, the other half is the tuned pipe. you can see huge gains from a proper tuned pipe, in some cases more power than going to a bigger motor.

that being said, if your going with a big bore kit consider something that uses a stock crank to save money and put the extra towards a proper pipe.

to answer the original question, the x-can is a muffler, not a tuned pipe, and the ss pipe is a poor tuned pipe. that being the case id run the ss pipe, but if you have both, try both, i doubt either will be much different.
