I’m new to the MCD. I am new to 1/5 scale racing. I am used to much smallest scale like 12 scale. There is a lot to learn when putting the body together my question for you guys is are you cutting out air vents on both sides of the body?

Both of my FG's have cutout side windows as well as a section of the rear window so the hot air can escape out the back.
I also cut out the side windows on the Rovan F5 and drilled a series of holes in the rear windows instead of cutting it out due to the shape.

I'm not going to high horse this. I STILL haven't painted the body on my xr5. I just run it naked like an uncultured ape because I'm just so paranoid about borking the paintjob and I keep hemhawing around about paying someone with skill, talent and ability to do it.

My old X4 rally I didn't cut window vents. I was only runnin a 26cc in it and I never really had heat issues. It was a pain to start it and then put the body on though.

At minimum i'd cut out a few pockets in the side windows and the rear window to keep it from wanting to catch air.

The Dremel metallic cutting wheel does wonders touch it up with the grinding bit
Yes it does. There was this really generic wheel I got years ago from harbor freight or walmart or something in one of those budget bit kits. It was basically a diamond file on a disc. It sanded bodies and cut windows so good, I broke it about 10 years ago and have never been able to find another.

Ok thanks everyone. I see all types on you tube You guys run Wagner Park in nj any time?

Woke up yesterday and just had the urge to cut something up....... Looks way better. Got my dremel at harbor freight, less than 150 bucks like 2 years ago. Best tool ever for rc!!!!! Bug body is last year project but it's getting so beat up decided to run the terminator body so l can redo the bug.
