Thicker diff fluid in rear and front will greatly reduced the drifts.Ice_2k said:I have to say I'm not overly impressed with their traction, especially since adding the JetPro and the 8k clutch the car is extremely tail happy, it drifts whenever I go near the throttle and the front wheels aren't straight. Unfortunatelly I swapped the stock tires even before I finished my breakin (the rears were getting killed by the tarmac even when driving slow) so I don't have much to compare them to. What I can tell you is that they also wear pretty fast, I think the thread depth is already at 50% after maybe 4-5 tanks of fuel. Looks like I'll be using slicks pretty soon lol
No its not hard at all no you will not seal them just make sure the gasket is in place when you put them back together and screw tight they will seal fine. If you have never done it before the hardest part is going to be cleaning the gears from the junk that comes stock from redcat its not a oil its some mystery grease so you will need to remove all the spiders gears to clean all of that junk off. Simple green works great to clean the spider gears. Then after you fill with diff oil the next time you go to work on or change the diffs it want be near as hard because you will just have diff oil to work with instead of that mystery grease bull which is pure garbage.Ice_2k said:Got it, thanks for your input. I think I'll get a bottle of 10k and one of 30k and start mixing. Is it difficult to open up the diffs? I've never done it before. Do I need to seal them in order to prevent the oil leaking?
+1 Brace yourself for cleaning up the gears. If it gets on your hands, it will get on anything you touch giving you more cleaning to do.rcgasser said:the hardest part is going to be cleaning the gears from the junk that comes stock from redcat its not a oil its some mystery grease so you will need to remove all the spiders gears to clean all of that junk off.
For what its worth, the problem (not starting when hot) disappeared after changing the intake, so the stock plastic one was probably warping and causing a leak when the engine was hot.Phill said:From what I've seen here on the forum it's a common problem so someone should have an answer. It's not something that's happened to me though (fingers crossed)
