That's the key word, right there! The proper technic for any pull start (plastic or metal pawl) is to pull slowly until it engages, then pull harder to start.Wayne said:The metal pawl is definitely more durable than the plastic one but it can and will damage the flywheel if not used properly. I find the Zenoah pull starts goodIce_2k said:I always do that, did so from day one. However there are some marks on the stock plastic pawl and it's not engaging like it used to. This "might damage flywheel" issue got me thinking though)
