Cut a long story short. I bought a bargain Losi LST and have no interest in it (bought to sell) The engine was worn so I got on fleebay and saw the price of the piston and liners and thought I'll have a go at a repair on it.
The YouTube videos were just about pinching the top of the liner but there was this one that made more sense....
The piston on the Losi has three grooved rings in it so if you re-groove the rings so as to push the metal out (if you get my meaning) it should make a decent seal. Anyway , pictures will explain.
And a vid of the first start.....
Considering this wouldn't fire at all I think its a winner.
