Looking to install axle extenders front and rear. Who sells ones that fit a stock KM Buggy. To do a little machining work is fine, just want ones that will fit and not have a sloppy fit in the bearing or in the hub. Do the KM buggies use the same wheel bearing as the HPI buggy.

ive used several ones,, ive had ones from rovan rc,, they are 25 bucks for a set with free shipping,, work ok, can use disc brakes in front,, but rears didn't fit good with the hostile adjustable rear hubs,, so went to vertigo in rears,, easy add on,, fit nice, may have to shim these for perfect fit,, tried darksoul fronts,, can use e clip,,, but will have to mod them to use a bolt and washer,,, I had to grind and countersink them,,, didn't like that,, finally just bought a set of uber rc ones for 70 bucks,, quality is excellent,, the new rears fit like a vertigo one does with a hardened pin and a rubber o-ring,, love them,, can can use disc brakes front and rear if u want,, and yes all bearings same ,, I installed a fast eddy bearing kit,, they have every bearing and includes ones for inside the diff,, and ive found all parts made for the hpi fit just fine too,, most of mine is either hpi or aftermarket

Also Installed a VRC big bore side mount on my 5sc and another VRC on my dbxl.

Running the other day at full speed and lost the pin that holds the wheel extender on , the wheel flew off luckily into grass so no damage ( guy's be careful with those expensive wheels) I modofied the hub with a stainless bolt , this is how it should've come from the factory. Another cheap mod that can save you from some real damage.

be careful,, stainless steel bolt isn't as strong as a hardened pin,,, stainless don't typically rust,, but aren't much stronger than a standard bolt,, and these cars put a lot of wear on the hubs and axles with the hp and torque , may bend making very hard to get hub off ,, or shear off and bolts are typically rated on being pulled on, not being sheared off

The wheel extender is aluminum I would think that would be the weak link , it should be fine , thanks for the tip though .

Random question.
Can anybody tell me the width (mm) of the ignition coil spacers?
Bought my Baja second hand and the guy must have taken them off.
I cant find any locally so im going to try make something work (i have some 4mm wide clutch bell bearings of my nitro buggy that fit) but not sure if itl be too wide

Thanks in advance

Be careful i would not want anything sticking out form the wheel extenders especially metal something can catch on the bolt end or the nut end also there is alot of flex on the wheels when making hard turns or high speed turns and jumping that can rub u against the bolt and the nut. The easier fix is to just loctite the grub screw that holds the pin in place or file a flat spot on the pin that way the grub screw will sit tighter on the pin. Also you can put a rubber o ring on the outside.

Plastic washers is what goes in there I would not use a bearing because that is metal and if it starts to fall apart you would not want the metal pieces to hit on the fly wheel and send pieces to the wrong place. If you are going to use metal a metal washer 1 piece would be much better as far as the width as long as the coil align on top of the fly wheel it will be fine.

Almost finished with MAJOR rebuild/cleaning. I stripped it down to a shockless rolling chassis and cleaned it. Then tore the shocks all the way down, cleaned, inspected and installed Threshold HP Seals. Dropped in a new Zenoah 29cc with DDM Dom V2 pipe. Rebuilt transmission too.
Fired it up tonight (no body on yet) and let it idle/short rev for 20 minutes. Gonna drive it softly tomorrow through a full tank and then get back to having fun!!! :-D

awesome thanks man, i got it running for now with the bearings only untill i can get some new spacers on the next order.

I just did something kinda small. I installed the roof guard. Does anyone know of a good aftermarket roll cage for this thing? The stock one is touching the exhaust and melting so it's time to replace it.

Installed new tires, 7500rpm DDM clutch spring and then drove the snot out of it! I bought the KM copies of the Proline Trencher tires, they shred grass and made my Baja do it's first power wheelies. I am sure the Zenoah G290RC and DDM Dominator V2 pipe help though. :D :D :D
