Hey Gang, I was recently handed over an older FG Modellsport touring car that I would like to get back up and running, it has some history so I figured I would get it back to it's prime. I know it is an older model due to the crystal radio and SOLO engine, LOL.

I've attached some pics, hopefully someone can identify the model.

Also, once that is sorted out, I know it has an old SOLO 180 motor, it did fire up right away but then the primer bubble popped. Can someone recommend a replacement carb, I am sure it needs it after sitting for 10 years,

Next, based on the model, do you think there are still any parts around? nothing is broke on the car but I would like to know what I am getting into.

I appreciate any help you guys and provide, my primary large cars are Losi, this is a new world.

Best, Jeff

Wowawewa that looks old. Wish I could help

get on Google an match it up then:rolleyes:........:ROFLMAO:

I tried a little bit . Talk about going down the rabbit hole. When did they switch from Crystals to Transitors and what not for radio tech. That may help narrow the the search a little bit .
Another thing to look for is to match the rear suspension if you can it's opposite of the modern FG shock set up . The tops of the rear shocks are attached to turn buckles instead of solid mounts.

It was built for someone and only run one race then shipped to my buddy, I don't know his name... timmy smitty, billy hilly, freddy deaddy... anyways... want to get it back to new and burn some rubber off it.
Try to find a serial number or something
Where?

The narrow chassis design with the clear side body mounts are also a H. A. R. M design cue.

I had one similar a few years ago although it didn't have the on-board front suspension, just the normal uprights.

I vaguely remember a UK shop that used to specialise in Harm but I can't recall their name..

Nice looking car. Good thing is any 535mm body should fit/easily adapted...

Edit... Just seen it had a porsche body...so not a 535mm lol
