William you know for the same price you you coud buy an MCD XR5
i think you should look at it i honestley think youll get more bang for buck (y)

YES!!!

MCD XS5 is the on road version.
MCD'S can be changed from a buggy to a short course truck to a rally car to a on road if you want.

Its like getting 4 cars in one.

Parts availability is the only issue i see with them..i think largescalerc.com is the only place to gets parts here in the US and they are out of stock on alot of them..

Running anything alone gets boring.
At one point in time I did race on road with some friends that worked at Maniacs Hobby Store before it closed and we lost touch.
Racing is a thrill, you can't beat it.
There are some great 1/8 scale off and on road tracks in my area but no 5th scale anything.
Finding 5th scale people near me is a problem.[/QUO

yes, there is no 1/5 scale tracks around me either,
step son peeked my interest in rc's again with a traxx, when started doing research ran across 1/5 scale and had to have it, love my car but limited places to run it, step son seen my Losi he has no interest in his "e"
but I'm not giving up

Check out these tracks,
The tracks are local but 1/8 scale nitro and electric only.
They do run nitro on the off road track.
1/8 racing looks likes a lot of fun with tracks like these next door.
1/8 scale is also a very pricy hobby.
Just think if these tracks where 5th scale.
Enjoy,

Dear Members,
I took out my Losi 5ive -T street machine for over an hour run today.
I laid out a great course with cones and had a ball.
I pitted periodically, all good and continued to run.
I have done this many times in the past without any issues with my truck.
I got home and inspected and cleaned the truck, nothing to repair just ready for my next run.
A light bulb in my head came on. Why am I dealing with all the aggravation involved with bashing.
Bashing is a lot of great fun but it comes with a price, broken truck all the time, buying new parts or upgrades.
I have been looking at FG on road cars for a while. Very expensive. Check out the DDM build on YouTube .
Maybe the secret is on road with just wear and tear or a crash maintenance to deal with.
I feel a change a coming.
Happy New Year,
William E. Burrows Jr.

The real fun with driving on-road is derived from racing. If you think off-road bashing is fun, try on-road racing. The challenge and fun is in taking apexes, overtaking, and that kind of sportscar and F1 stuff. The problem, however, is there are more construction sites and open fields and deserted stretches for off-road bashing and hardly any on-road tracks. To run on-road fifth-scale one will have to find open parking lots without the concern of running into someone's car, dog, kids, or an unyielding curb. Listen, I'm an on-road guy but own an off-road fifth-scale vehicle. It is not what I really love. My heart is for on-roads. But I had to be realistic. There are no on-road tracks in my state but lots of places to bash. To your point that running on-road means less broken parts. You are correct. So, instead of investing in a true on-road vehicle, simplyou lower the suspensions on your current off-road truck, put on some slicks, add on a killswitch, find an abandoned parking lot, and have fun ripping, cornering, drifting, and just having fun. PEACE!

William, what area in Florida are you near? We plan a move there in the next few years and was wondering what the 1/5 scleras scene is in different areas.

There are three on and off road race tracks within a 20 minute drive in Ft. Lauderdale.
The issue is that 1/8 scale dominates in this area, lots of events and big turnouts.
1/8 scale nitro and electric rules in my area.
There is one location called Malcolm Park, they have a 5th scale bashing area but I have idea of the turnout of 5th scalers.
There was a roomer about a year ago that they may build a 5th scale race track, but I would need to contact them to see if it is true.
I know of one 5th scale track with events in Orlando Fl. but you must run with a silencer on your tune pipe, it must be near people.
Best Regards,
Come on down to the Sunshine State and run all year long.

The good news down my way is that the local track is being rebuilt and will accommodate 5ths

Now I'm thinking about upgrading my Losi 5ive -T street machine. I want to change its headlights and make the lighting more modern. An important indicator is a specific modification of the car. There are no universal interior car lights and headlights: each headlight has its marking with information about the country of manufacture and light indicators. It also indicates for which type of cars the headlight is intended — for cars with left or right-hand drive. So now I'm thinking about whether the selected products will suit me.
