Hi thinking of upgrading the pipe on my losi 5t 2.0 is there a performance difference between a silenced pipe and unsilenced? And what benefits will I gain over the stock exhaust? Thanks
 
The stock can is the quietest option, but it's complete garbage for power. In fact it will completely rob your engine of power.

Silenced exhausts will tame the higher pitched exhaust rattle/cackle, and can result in a bit more torque on the low end, they're still loud, but not as piercing. Unsilenced pipes will give a slightly wider powerband on the top end, but can result in the police being called a bit more often if run in urban areas.

It's entirely subjective whether you run silenced or not. The pipe will still be loud, and either will result in superior performance over the stock can.

I run in an urban area, so not having the cops called on me every time I run is a big selling point for a silenced pipe. And truth be told, I'm not missing any power.

Unsilenced is literally like a 2 stroke dirtbike with a aftermarket non silenced pipe. It's high pitched ear piercing up close. I have a unsilenced DDM Dominator pipe and I don't feel comfortable running mine around the house in town even during day time hours with no noise restrictions basicly.
 
I definitely know I would feel very rude towards my nieghbors if I started mine up super early in the morning. Or if i drove mine around in my back yard lol. It would sound like a Texas chainsaw massacre going on lol.
 
I mean I've done it lol but I try to take mine away from the house. Between my nieghbor and I on our harleys that's got to be enough haha
 
I've had one old bag call the cops, which was funny because it was one that is friends with my dad. He explained to the exacerbated cunt about our townships noise ordnance. And beans it's the middle of the day and I don't run it everyday, i was perfectly within my rights. Now i make it a point to run past her house a few times just to remind her some of us have a life other than butting into others business. Mind you a bunch of the kids ride their dirt bikes, go carts and whatever else they own up and down the lane every chance they get. Not any louder then my dbxl. So fek her and anyone else that has an issue with my hobbies.
