HAHA when we were kids we had old Mcculloch engines and couldn't afford head gaskets , we tried Coke cans lasted about 5 min lol

Wonder why it didnt last, I use coke cans for gaskets quite a lot. Coated with loctite 518, never had any fail on me.

well it was a HEAD gasket so high pressures/temps and we weren't smart enough to use a sealer , don't think it would have helped anyhow.

I assume your talking about a cylinder with separate head? Maybe I should re word what I meant, i use coke cans quite frequently to make a base gasket for the cylinders. If your not talking about a separate head, then I have no idea why it would have been an issue.

ya the old Mac engines were separate heads , almost all Kart motors are from what I remember

Ground it down and annealed the copper using a mapp gas torch. So far so good.
