Dude maybe I skipped past it but why are you checking temps? If it idles fine after a run your all good. Don't put anymore thought into it than that.
The 5b is notorious for its overheating, I can getting temps in the high 300s, what’s a normal temp, I mean the bulb isn’t dry like last time... but it’s not full, it’s only halfway

If your trying to get anal about it 300+ is high. Is it doing damage? Prob not much. Keep running it and pull it apart in the off season to see if any damage.. Only way your gonna get the answer your looking for.

I doubt I would see damage, but would see a loss in compression, also I def see a slight performance loss at the high temps

🤭🤣

Yeah prob cause it's running leaner. Your tuning it normally at like 260deg or less. Heat damage would show bluing on the con rod just ask Rep lol. Rep or Sean could prob help more with what to look out for. If your seeing a loss in power order up a gasket + ring and get to work! Would make a good chance to check the condition of all your internals but I would wait til end of season and really beat on it til then.

The power loss is only noticeable when I hit the high temp, what damage does bluing do? Also, I am tuned for peak performance, and if I richen that will prob not make a huge temp difference

High temps = tight engine= engine damage.
Bluing of steel= temper change in the steel=junk.
Rich fuel settings= cooler engine.
300* is not ok. Your an idiot that's destroying an engine.
