I'm currently rebuilding my fg monster/marder with a 4wd kit and it doesn't include any differential grease. What do you suggest to start with? I would like it to be pretty free but a tiny bit locked in the front and a lot more locked in the rear, since I get a lot of uneven spin on loose surfaces right now. Any help is apriciated.

@Striikar.....
If it's an open diff then you'll need a limited slip diff. If it's a closed diff your gonna need silicon diff fluid. Heavier weight for less slip.
Its not open but not sealed either. (any liquid will leak out but grease and thicker stuff not) the rear diff that was asembled when i got the car had grease in it.

I believe @DougStar has grease in his, but your not going to be getting the effect you think you are. I'm pretty sure you'll need some sort of limited slip diff for your application, one of the guys will chime in if I'm wrong.

Doug did you stick a limited slip in your bug, or just leave them open? I belive I found the correct diff for his conversion if he wants a limited slip version, however I didn't see anything about sealed diffs, or how to change bias like we do with diff fluid in our other rigs.

He's worried about tuning right to left. Kinda like the vekta, no center dif but you use different different fluid to get your wheel slip in check, he wants to do that with grease and I'm about 99% sure it isn't going to work like that. Once the grease warms up its gonna get soft and let the gear spin like normal, or channel out and let the gears spin like normal anyway.

100% correct the grease is just lube and thats it 👍🏻 lsd are (if im not mistaken) on road and Evo kits and don't fit regular fg models

Ah, well it's not that big of a deal. I'll just go grab some silicon or lithium bearing grease from the nearest hardware store since I want the build up and running. I'll look into a limited slip diff.
Hey so with fg diffs .......
I filled mine with lithium grease....ill grab a link to my build👍🏻

Nice build! I'll probably get some lithium grease aswell.
