Hello, so i want to get a large scale Truck so ive been checking a bunch out and decided i like the XRT the most, so before i save up the money to get i want some opinions on it, im only 16 and make $150 a week so i don't wanna save up $1300 for the truck and batteries and it break constantly. I wont be hardcore bashing i just want a huge truck to race around with a friend. Just looking for some opinions. Thanks

i thought about changing the esc plugs but im pretty sure that would void the traxxas warranty. i was looking at venom batteries but i figured theyve been out of business for almost a year now so all their batteries gotta be atleast that old. unless you think venom batteries would be much better than the Gens?
Sorry don't mean to keep asking questions.

nah you don’t have to get venom i got them when they were in business. i just really liked their customer support and warranty

Let me clarify warranty, for the people that don't have taylor rc money pouring out of their ears, they tend to like warranties because they can only afford it once. Keep the ball dragging down your dealing with a younger crowd here not banking on mommy and daddy money.
Yes I get that. That’s not what I’m saying. Don’t run battery adapters to get away from traxxas batteries just so you don’t loose the wty. Adapters are awful. None of these guys make warranty claims easy, I know I’ve been in a business owner operator since 95. Warranty - nobody wins. What I’m saying is Don’t limit your builds to stay within warranty because you’re missing lots of fun. Find a used Xmaxx and tinker away. They are fun to work on.

There is a Xmaxx on my kijiji for $675 cad. No batteries. Some Upgrades.

Used Xmaxx on Traxxas forums for $750 USD. its a red one.

I would NEVER recommend battery adapters on these high draw type systems. I have seen them get super hot and even melt due to the extra resistance. On a low amp draw, voltage set up like a crawler, or a plane that is a trainer...no issues...but an 8s high amperage XMaxx...potential to lead to fire.

i got both xrt and xmaxx there both awesome forget upgrading battery and esc first upgrades are servo and spur and pinion gears 2 runs and the gears are stripped defiantly go hardened steel and get a couple of sets iv stripped 2 sets on stock electronics first set was standard and the second set was my fault not installing motor in properly but hardened gears are essential
